Frequently Asked Questions

  • If placed on specific acupressure points, as illustrated by a Zing treatment pack for Knee Pain Relief, there is a good chance that the user will feel some benefit. Everyone is different, but this may well assist in the reduction of pain in the knee.

  • Two reasons – A coating keeps the rare earth magnet in one piece as they can break without a coating. Secondly, many people have a nickel allergy, and so by coating in 24 carat gold, this removes the chances of an allergic reaction to any metal compounds.

  • Gauss abbreviated to ‘G’, and is named after the German mathematician Carl Friederich Gauss, which measures the ‘magnetic flux density’ or in layman’s terms the strength of a magnetic field. Typical magnetic field strengths:-
    • 10−9–10−8 gauss: the human brain magnetic field
    • 0.31–0.58 gauss: the earth’s magnetic field on its surface
    • 25 gauss: the Earth’s magnetic field in its core
    • 50 gauss: a typical fridge magnet
    • 100 gauss: a small iron magnet
    • 1500 gauss: a small neodymium – iron- boron (NIB) magnet
    • 3000 gauss: Zing Magnet used in pain relief
    • 15,000-30,000 gauss: a medical MRI electromagnet
    • 1012–1013 gauss: the surface of a neutron star

  • We have been involved in magnet technology for over ten years, and in this time have been able to gauge what delivers the best results in the shortest time period, and 3000 gauss is the best quality and value we can bring to market.

  • Zing magnets are ultra strong, c3000 gauss. We have maximised the strength and minimised the size to enhance the speed of results and minimise any inconvenience involved when wearing our magnets.

  • The price of magnets vary from pennies to pounds, and it easy to think you are getting a bargain for ten pence when a good reliable gold plated, ultra strong magnet that will last a life time may cost you nearer £20-30 a pack.

  • There are many magnet pellet products on the market, and at first glance magnets look like a homogeneous product. However, they are not.

Magnets take many guises in their size, strength and physical appearance. Zing magnets are small, ultra strong, 24k gold plated, and are a rare earth magnet of neodymium composition.
Also, for identification they have a dot on their south pole. A neodymium magnet (also known as NdFeB, NIB, or Neo magnet), the most widely-used type of rare earth is a permanent magnet made from an alloy of neodymium, iron, and boron, to form the Nd2Fe14B tetragonal crystalline structure, giving the compound the potential to have high coercivity i.e., resistance to being demagnetized.
In essence, the magnetic properties of neodymium magnets depend on the alloy composition, microstructure, and manufacturing technique employed, but have a resistance to losing its magnetism.

  • Yes. There are no known side effects, in using magnetic therapy. Obviously they should not be swallowed. Magnets are for external use and should not be applied to broken skin.

  • We use hypo-allergenic plasters. This means that they should be safe for people who have sensitive skin. Providing they don’t irritate your skin, they can be left on for weeks, but we advise you change them periodically.

  • Magnets have been used for years in the treatment of nausea and pain relief, and were used in the days of Cleopatra in ancient Egypt. The most common use of magnets in western society is for the treatment of travel sickness.

  • The points illustrated in our packs are derived from TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) which have been used successfully by traditional Chinese Doctors for centuries. We have been working with UK based Dr. Nick Fazakerley who has practiced acupuncture for over 20 years while developing the different products for Zing Pain Relief.

  • Yes. Acupuncture is much more effective in the short term but the needles are only left in for 20-30 minutes. Using magnets has a similar affect over time because even though they are less powerful, they can be used for long periods.

  • A large proportion of the population have an allergy to Nickel. This is present in small quantities in most forms of steel, silver and 9k gold. We use 24k gold plate on our magnets so that even people with metal allergies can keep the magnets on indefinitely without irritation.
